Yes, it’s already February

Yes, I’ve still got to blog a few weddings from 2011

Yes, I’ve already shot two weddings in 2012

But if I don’t put this up now, it’ll never see the blog!

So here’s three minutes of pictures (they’re a little high speed, I didn’t want you to get bored!) from 2011. A huge thank you to everyone that chose me to be their wedding photographer last year, I loved every minute of it….

Sarah and Chris – Kelham Hall Wedding

A quick preview from Sarah and Chris’ wedding at Kelham Hall from Friday. A fantastic day full of friends and family and a winter wedding with no snow (but it was a little bit breezy!) – although Sarah’s preparations were one of the most relaxed I’ve photographed, their happiness was clear from the moment they met at the top of the isle, they didn’t stop smiling all day! A few today and the rest will appear as a blog post once the bride and groom have seen them all!

Sophie and Chris – Prestwold Hall Wedding Photos

Sophie and Chris were married at their (very) local church (well parents very local church) before heading off to Prestwold Hall for a fantastic travel themed wedding reception. Sophie and Chris met while studying geography and their love of travel was shown all the way through this wedding, including their choice of exit!

Not being ‘dancy people’, they chose to finish their wedding after their speeches, but with a flair for the dramatic, headed off in a helicopter!

Sacha & Sam – Wedding Preview

Chloe and Rob – A Saracen’s Head Hotel Wedding

Yet another Autumnul wedding and continuing the reign of bright sunshine – Chloe and Rob were married at a Church in Lowdham and had their wedding reception at the Saracen’s Head Hotel in Southwell.

A great day where the sun never seemed to stop shining, except possibly during the point where I was trying to find a car parking space (extra detail included as a special christmas present to you blog readers!) and when Rob’s brother held nothing back in his best man duties and delivered a very funny, but, how can I put this, slightly unsympathetic best mans’ speech!

Ben and Louise – Belvoir Castle Wedding

All the way back in the Autumn, Ben and Louise were married at Belvoir Castle out near Grantham. No need to state, a fantastic venue with a great heritage, Belvoir Castle is a remarkable wedding venue.

And for a remarkable couple! Despite getting married in such grand settings Ben and Louise were completely laid back about their whole day, taking their time to really enjoy each moment, including the warm autumn sunshine in the gardens, being in the company of friends and family in the picture room and some fantastic speeches.

Becs and Nathan – Charlotte House Hotel Preview

Becs and Nathan were married at the Charlotte House Hotel in Lincoln, a fantastic winter wedding with christmas trees galore, and co-incidentally the second to last wedding of the year, and the last wedding I’ll ever shoot in my twenties!

Alex and Nicola – Thrumpton Hall Wedding

Alex and Nicola were married on a glorious summers day in the middle of the autumn. Starting at the very start of the bridal preparations and working all the way through to the dancing, this is as near to a ‘whole day’ as I’ve covered, it was exhausting but a fantastic experience! The girl’s preparations in the morning swung between excitement, nervousness and hilarity. An honoured position at the front of the church and then back to Thrumpton Hall for a drinks reception in the grounds followed by an evening in Thrumpton’s fantastic marquee!

Sian and Andy – Sir John Moore Foundation Wedding Photos

Is it in Derbyshire? Is it in Leicestershire? Who knows, but the Sir John Moore Foundation in Appleby Magna is a hidden gem of a wedding venue and the place that Sian and Andy chose to get married. A school by day, the main hall is used for both the ceremony and reception, with a cellar bar helping out when there’s bad weather.

I started the day at Andy and Sian’s house with Sian and her two bridesmaids and daughters. Greeted by the words “I hate having my photo taken”, I knew I had some hard work ahead, but Sian was actually pretty fine about having her picture taken, as long as I wasn’t bossing her about (which of course, I would never do) and then on to the Sir John Moore Foundation where Andy was waiting. A fair few children were present on the day, so no apologies made for the number of kids photos here.

Buffy and Rhod – Whitney Court Wedding Photos

A trip away for the day! Buffy and Rhod got in touch after Rachel and Andre’s wedding last year – in fact Andre and Rachel both make an appearance here giving a reading and a highly memorable best man’s speech. Buffy and Rhod were married in church in Leominster (note: not pronounced ‘leo-minster’ as locals will roll their eyes at you, but instead lemonsta, which sounds like a nice fruit pudding, or a rapper, maybe) and had a reception at Whitney Court in Herefordshire (pronounced like it’s spelt, luckily).

A beautiful church wedding with an amazing violin solo (since having kids I well up at loads of stuff now, including violin solos in church, apparently) and then a drive to Whitney Court for a fantastic and beautiful wedding reception.

Congratulations Buffy and Rhod!
