Anna & Arran’s Wedding at Allington Manor, Lincolnshire

Anna & Arran were married at Allington Manor in Lincolnshire. They had a very small and intimate ceremony with just family and close friends. Their daughter also featured in the ceremony, but luckily kept quiet when asked if anyone knew of a reason they may not be married! She of course, also feature heavily in the pictures.

Hannah & Alex’s Wedding at Hart’s Hotel, Nottingham

Hannah and Alex were married at St Mary’s Church in Woolaton and had their first reception in the church hall, followed by a meal at Hart’s Hotel in Nottingham. They had a great day surrounded by friends and family. This is officially ‘The Wedding with the Most Locations of 2008′ as I travelled from the guys getting ready, to the girls, to the church (and church hall) and then onto Hart’s Hotel! All very worth it though as I hope you agree.

This is Hannah’s dad’s first speech of the day in the Church hall.

And his second, once we’d moved on to Harts!

Ideas: Save The Date Cards

Planning your own wedding is great, as I get to trawl the web for lots of inspiration, but I thought I’d share our ‘Save the Date’ cards. As we’re planning our wedding in a pretty short timescale (5 months, actually 4 and a half!) we needed to get these out to people quickly. So one background, a few bits of card and me trying to think of some jokes to make Jo laugh and Voila!

These are available to clients as well, get in touch if you would like some!

Churches Want You!

To get married there! The CofE is apparently looking at relaxing some of the ‘rules’ on getting married in Church, meaning that you can get married in a parish you don’t necessarily live in. See The Telegraph

One of the funnier quotes from this article:

The guidelines also recommend providing “Kodak moments”: “If you restrict photography during the ceremony, why not recreate the moment later? Stand the couple at the front facing each other, and invite the guests out of their pews to take their own shots.”

Of course, they could just let us photograph throughout (I understand that flash may be distracting - I don’t use flash at all through the ceremony).

On a more practical point, it’s important to check with your vicar / registrar before the day if there are any restrictions on photography at your wedding. These can range from ‘go wherever you like’ to ‘you can’t take any photos at all’. Obviously this will affect your coverage for the day. Best thing to do is to check, and then I can try to sweet talk the official in question (sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t!)
