Madeleine and James were married at Hart’s Hotel in Nottingham – a really great cosmopolitan venue for a wedding. Now, I’ve berated myself for banging on about the weather on this blog before, but it has to be mentioned for Madeleine and James’ wedding – the previous week was one that saw torrential downpours, gale force winds and downpours of frogs (one of these may not be true). As Saturday dawned, the weather broke and they were greeted with, well, not glorious sunshine, but not the floods and biblical plagues expected.
Right, enough weather. Madeleine and James had a wonderful, cricket filled (the two are not mutually exclusive!) celebration with a civil ceremony at Harts Hotel followed by an evening reception at Hart’s Upstairs (can you guess where it is?). The speeches after the wedding breakfast were fairly unusual on a couple of accounts – not one but two best man and a speech by Madeleine’s mum. In fact one of the best men was also put to work as a DJ – now that’s getting your suit rental’s money worth!
