Hello and welcome to my website. I'm a wedding photographer based in Nottingham, East Midlands. Born and raised in Lincoln, I have managed to escape precisely one county away to Notts. I live with my fiancee Jo (yes, I am going through this wedding planning madness with you) and have just discovered Wii Fit, which I think, will be the death of me. To find out more, you can see my blog. The photo on the left is by John Owen.
My style of photography is relaxed and informal. I don't pose people alot, preferring to record the moments as they happen, rather than try to create them, otherwise called photojournalistic, reportage or documentary photography. Then after your ceremony I'll take a few informal for you to remember your first moments as husband and wife and then return to capturing moments as they happen, your speeches, your first dance and the party into the evening.
What you'll recieve are great photographs that don't rely on 'special effects' to have impact. Photographs that allow you to remember what you saw, heard and felt on your wedding day. Photographs that will retell the story of your day, moment by moment each time you open your album.

Mike and Cathy were married at St Margaret’s Church, Saleby and had their reception at Alford Manor House in Lincolnshire. Despite the ever present threat of rain, most of it was avoided and the day ran like clockwork. A big thank you to all the staff at the manor house and to Reverend Wilma at the church who made my job very easy indeed! Congratulations Mike & Cathy!

September 8, 2008 - 8:48 am - Jon, Thank you so much for everything you did for us on our special day. Everyone has commented on how professional you were, but how you blended in amongst the guests. This was exactly what we wanted. The photographs you have already put on the blog only give us a taste of the work you did and we are very impressed! We are checking our mail every day and are excited in anticipation for the rest of the Photographs! It is quite emotional to go back through these photos as they portray the feelings of the day just as we remember it! Thank you Lyndsay and Jo

OK, so one of Ben & Jen’s weddings was at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel, the other was at The Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit in West Bridgford. They were in fact, married twice on one day, firstly a catholic service and secondly a hindu one, which meant lots of great photographs from a great day.

I’m very much looking forward to this weekend’s wedding, Ben and Jenny are having a catholic ceremony in West Bridgford and then a Hindu Ceremony at The Belfry Hotel in Nottingham. Not only that but I’m also going to set up a photobooth to try and capture as many guests photos as possible. Here’s the results of Will and Beth’s photobooth last year at Thrumpton Hall, these pictures made for a great spread in their album:
I’m about to retire the current pair of hard drives that I keep all my wedding couples photos on as they’re reaching ‘very nearly full’, so before then I thought I’d have a look through and pick a photo or so from some weddings as a bit of a retrospective.

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to be included in a group of photographers who went to Birmingham to ‘practice’ on a couple of willing models. This was arranged via an online community of wedding photographers, but mostly down to Gill Taylor, who had a heck of a weekend, but still managed to sort all of this out. Thank you Gill!
Simon and Su were married at St Mark’s Church in Mansfield and had their wedding Reception at Patchings Art Centre in Calverton. Simon’s family are so tall, I nearly had to break out the stilts for their group photograph! Here’s a sneak peak:
